National Council likely to resolve religious matters

Karachi: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousuf, said on Saturday that the government was taking high level steps to stop sectarian killings and boost religious harmony.

On launch of Association Voice of Islam’s head office in Karachi, the federal minister told a press conference that work for the formation of a National Council was in progress to resolve religious matters.

“Without peace and harmony, country’s progress is not possible. We will solve these long standing problems considering them as challenges.” he said.

Chairman of Association Voice of Islam, Mufti Abu Huraira said that terrorism does not belong to any religion and sect as sectarian violence was being fanned through a hidden conspiracy.
