KARACHI: Director PIA and Provincial Commissioner Shahnawaz Rehman said on Wednesday that Scouts Movement gives the lesson of development mutual peace, love, human service and tranquillity worldwide.
“There is need to take more steps for developing better society and generation,” he said while addressing the concluding ceremony of National Scouting Week at PIA Scouts Provincial Headquarter here. Provincial Secretary Malik Ajmal Khan, Vice Provincial Commissioner Mohammad Shoaib, Rashid Dar, Tariq Moeen, District Commissioner Yar Mohammad Gopang and Secretary Public Relations Syed Mehboob Qadri were also present on the occasion.
The commissioners made arrangements for National Scouting Week celebrations at PIA Scouts District Headquarters in Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Faisalabad and Multan airports. A large number of PIA Scouts and other distinguished guests attended the ceremonies. Secretary Events Mohammad Usman was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony.
A Quran Khawani was also held at the mazar of national hero Shaheed Rashid Minhas. Five hundred saplings were planted at PIA Model School. A Girls Scout group headed by Tasawar Ateeq visited Mid City Hospital and inquired about the health of patients. They also presented bouquets to them. Air Scouts District also took out a rally from Natha Khan to Star Gate in Karachi. A colourful concluding ceremony was held by Admin District.
