Naval Command & Staff Conference reviews operational readiness, expresses solidarity with victims of Peshawar School carnage


Islamabad: Fourth Command and Staff Conference of Pakistan Navy for the year 2014 was held at Naval Headquarters Islamabad on 29 and 30 Dec 14.

The Conference was chaired by Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Mohammad Zakaullah.

The Conference was primarily aimed at reviewing Operational Preparedness and Developmental Plans of Pakistan Navy. Chief of the Naval Staff was given detailed briefings on various developmental projects of Pakistan Navy.

Along with taking a comprehensive review of the prevailing Maritime environment in the region, the priorities and the ongoing projects, the participants of the Conference expressed solidarity with the victims of the Peshawar school carnage and pledged to standby the nation at this juncture. While taking stock of the prevalent security environment, the Naval Chief directed extra vigilance for ensuring proactive and effective response to defy any threats in safeguarding assets and resources.

The Chief of the Naval Staff expressed satisfaction over operational readiness of Pakistan Navy in the face of prevalent Maritime challenges. He exhorted upon all to pursue the same with no let-up and achieve the professional pursuits with sheer professionalism and diligence. He also praised the endeavours being made for capacity building of the human resource and enhancement of operational capabilities so as to keep abreast with the latest technological advancements.

Command and Staff Conference is held every quarter and is the apex decision making body of Pakistan Navy in which all Principal Staff Officers and Field Commanders participate to undertake strategic review of Pakistan Navy’s Policies and Plans.
