Notice taken of growing road accidents in Karachi


Karachi: Additional Inspector General of Traffic Police Ghulam Qadir Thebo has taken a serious notice of the growing road accidents in Karachi and sought a report from DIG Traffic Karachi on the implementation of a special campaigning of traffic police as well as performance of traffic sections.

The road accidents in Karachi are on the rise due to failure of regulatory authorities to remove roadside encroachments, make functional faulty traffic signals, stop illegal parking on busy roads, control wrong flow of traffic at main intersections, end illegal bus terminals in residential and commercial areas, take action against under-age drivers without driving licenses and motorcyclists wearing no crash helmets.

The AIG Traffic asked that traffic police should play their due role in early shifting road accident injured to hospitals and assist them in lodging cases with area police. He said traffic police should extend all-out help in preparing traffic reports about the sites of road accidents.
