Islamabad: A signing ceremony of MoU in the field of sports between Pakistan and Mauritius was held here Monday. Dr. Ahmed Rashid Bebby Jan, the Deputy Prime Minister of Mauritius and the Federal Minister Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Ministry of IPC signed the MoU on behalf of their respective countries.
The salient features of the MoU are Exchange of experts, Government Officials, Coaches and Teams of Cricket, Hockey, Squash, Football, Athletics and Volleyball.
Exchange of material for the development of sports programmes. Cooperation in the field of research and science applied to sports. Interaction through meetings, conferences and symposia; and Exchange of Sports documentation and literature.
It was decided that the visiting delegations/teams will have to pay the return air tickets, whereas the host country will bear the expenditure on accommodation, subsistence, internal transport and medical emergency cost during the stay in the host country. The exchange of sports delegations, teams, coaches and officials shall be carried out in accordance with the annual schedule approved by both the countries.
On this felicitous occasion, Federal Minister said “it is hoped that this MoU will work to promote the peace loving image of Pakistan. The exchange of players between two countries will promote positive activities among the youth and will help to curb the menace of terrorism”. After the signing ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister alongwith Federal Minister visited the Sports Complex.
