A resident of Gulbahar demands to retrieve his property

Peshawar: A resident of Gulbahar Peshawar has alleged that a photo journalist with connivance of police, officials of revenue department and some land mafia have grabbed his ancestral property in the area.

Speaking at a press conference here Press Club on Wednesday, Malik Ayaz Awan said that Muhammad Iqbal (The photographer) had sold his (Ayaz) property for several times despite having no proof of Intiqal regarding the concerned lands.

Giving details of the property, he said that his grandfather had four brothers and the divided lands among them were situated at the same area Ijaz Abad No-4 in the city, however, his father Malik Sarfaraz purchased some 3 Kanal and 5 Marlas in 1973 from one of his uncle (Sarfaraz’s uncle) while his mother (Ayaz’s mother) bought 2 Kanal and 5 Marlas from her father-in-law in 1979.

“Both my father and mother had purchased the lands with proof of transfer letter”, he claimed and he blamed the photographer Muhammad Iqbal s/o Gul Muhammad (Relative) wanted to grab the property by getting fake documents made from the department concerned.

The photographer, he accused of selling it out for two times on notorious people without showing them any original transfer letter of the property. “Despite registering complaints to Gulbahar police in this regard but the photographer greases the palm of the police officials and also using name of his newspaper and Peshawar Press Club for occupying the lands”, he further alleged.

He maintained that they had to pay to the property purchasers sold by Muhammad Iqbal illegally as they paid Rs3.5million to a grabber aimed at retrieving his property in 2001 while Rs3million to another occupier in 2007.

“After repossessing our property legally, my parents got seven homes constructed on the lands and installed gas and electricity meters on their names, the photographer for third time with connivance of some notorious people has occupied the homes and a plot as well”, he claimed.

The recent grabber, Mr Awan claimed was not a Pakistan’s citizen and that’s why the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) blocked his card upto now.

He, therefore, appealed to Chief Justice Peshawar High Court (PHC to take notice of the fake documents made by the photographer and chief of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Imran Khan should issue orders to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to retrieve his property the grabbers, he continued that provincial police chief also take stern action against the concerned police officials for backing the photographer who he added also giving him threats in this connection.
