Central government’s claim for taking loan from IMF is totally baseless, Rahmat Khan Wardag


Peshawar: Tehrik-e-Istaqlal (TI) central President Rahmat Khan Wardag has termed that the ruling central government’s claim for economic development by taking loan from International Monetary Fund (IMF) is totally baseless and fraud with the nation.

Speaking at a news conference here Press Club on Tuesday, he informed that the IMF approves loan when its conditions are accepted, the conditions of loan are, increasing in power tariff, gas, petroleum and food products and levy tax on other things of daily usage including general sale tax etc.

He said it was very regrettable that the federal minister for finance Ishaq Dar and the rulers expressing their joy on different tv channels that foreign exchange reserve had become 15billion dollars with the government, albeit, every child but everyone had become indebted of nine two thousands rupees.

He emphasized the government to implement better developmental works of Pervez Musharraf’s regime, a former president of Pakistan, who he added had reimbursed all the loan of IMF and kicked out it from Pakistan and the Pakistani banks’ managers kept requesting the people to borrow loans from their banks as it was all because of having huge amounts in their banks despite reimbursement and kicking out the IMF. He added that the mark-up rate was six percent while the people were running business by taking loans from the banks, which helped elimination of unemployment in the country.

Commenting on statement of Inter Service Public Relation (ISPR), Mr Wardag advised the government to announce to implement all points of National Action Plan (NAP) forthwith instead of feeling ill on the statement. He maintained that the Chief Justice also issued a statement on governance but the government resented only the ISPR’s statement while adopted silence on Chief Justice’s statement.

“Unless and until the government does not take action against the corrupt and those of getting their loans waived off as per law, the military and judiciary will keep speaking on this issues till putting system towards the right path”, he endorsed.

He suggested Sharif brothers in influence of power not to tussle with Pak army, which is not in benefit of the country, and should learn lesson from attitude of ex-President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari for having tussle Pak army and judiciary and take their matters towards good with tolerance. “There are some politicians who want to pit the government against army”, he alleged.

He demanded of the government to repatriate the internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Waziristan agency and respective areas like IDPs of Swat so that they could restart their life with prosperity.

Criticizing the Awami National Party (ANP) and Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) not voicing for the rights of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province saying that 60 percent crude oil supply from the province but there is no refinery while contrary to it, the rest three provinces had 2,2 refineries.

Lambasting the ANP-led former government in KP, Rahmat Khan Wardag has said that it did not work for Pukhtuns but tall-claims. He added that there were natural resources in the KP province but none was ready to snatch those from the federal government.
