Peshawar: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on demand of a representative Jirga of North Waziristan on Wednesday said CORPS Commander would be contacted to ask him for extension of date for registration of IDPs.
Talking to a representative Jirga of North Waziristan at Provincial Assembly Chief Minister said that special arrangements would be made to educate the students of North Waziristan whereas arrangements would also be made to reserve quota for students of NW in colleges and universities of the province.
He said that IDPs are their guests and they would be treated like special people as no stone would be left unturned to facilitate the them.
In respond of various demands, chief minister said that to provide better health facilities Rs 200 millions have been approved for the medicines while doctors have been transferred to Bannu to overcome the shortage of doctors in hospitals.
Chief Minister said the provincial government would pay Rs 8000 to each IDP family and for the purpose United Bank has established counters at various places where people of NW would just present their ID card to get the cash amount as their data would be already available with the bank.
Similarly, Chief Minister said that centre would be asked to increase the package for IDPs as end load shedding in camps and other residences of IDPs.
On this occasion he directed Chief Secretary to prepare a list of those who died during their departure from Waziristan so their heirs would be given compensation. He also directed to Chief secretary to arrange a piece of land for graveyard where IDPs would bury the dead bodies in case of any death.
Earlier a representative Jirga headed by Malik Jalal met with Chief Minister and Speaker Asad Qaiser and through a joint resolution demanded extension of date for registration, allow registration on ID cards carrying temporary addresses, establish cadet college at Miran Shah, shift back the Razmak Cadet College to Razmak, compensate those died in camps, end load shedding for IDPs, reserve seats for students of North Waziristan in colleges and universities, write off university and college fees, give special health package of Rs 10 thousands for health, increase the package for IDPs to 50 thousands, reserve seats for the people of Waziristan in police and army and arrangements for vaccines of IDPs.
