Peshawar: Stressing for closer interaction among the public sector institutions for hosting the IDPs, KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has asked for providing them all basic facilities in the camps. He reminded that taking care of the operation affectees and management of the IDPs camps was the overall responsibilities of Federal govt and Pak Army, however, the support and provision of services would be provided by the provincial govt while his govt will have enhanced role for supplementing the efforts for facilitating the IDPs.
This he stated to the participant in a briefing given to him by the divisional and districts administrations of Bannu division during his visit to Bannu. Speaker KP assembly Asad Qaiser, Senior Minister for Health Sheram Khan Tarkai, Provincial Minister for Revenue Amin Ullah Gandapur, CM’s Advisor on Social Welfare Dr.Meher Taj Roghani, Provincial President PTI Azam Khan Swati, General Secretary Khalid Masood and other elite also attended the meeting.
The Chief Minister was briefed about the comprehensive scheme of things under which different public sector institutes will work round the clock for providing basic facilities to the IDPs and facilitating them in their respective camps.
Chief Minister directed to enhance the relief items distribution points from four to ten in order to remove the complaints of the IDPs and rapidly providing the relief both in cash and kind.
Pervez Khattak said that his govt will also ease out the working of NGOs involved in the relief activities. He further directed to start education and tuitions for children of IDPs in the nearly school & colleges.
He said that there are initial activities and there might be weaknesses, however with high level of commitment at sheer honesty and engagement to the noble task of facilitating the IDPs, we will have overcome all these weaknesses.
Chief Minister directed for an effective plan for the distribution of relief goods at Tehsil level and directed to open the process of registration for the IDPs. He also directed NADRA to resolve the identity and registration related issues of affectees and further directed the divisional administration for the provision of vehicles etc for the transportation of stranded IDPs at border check posts.
He directed the divisional administration to move a summary for the compensation of dead and injured of the different accidents of IDPs in order to give them a full package of compensation.
Chief Minister reminded that it is one of the most different human influxes therefore the divisional administration should pull their sleeves to meet any eventuality. “The PTI-led coalition govt was not ready for such a huge influx, however once a decision was made, we owned it and therefore we would contribute all our best efforts to prepare a package for the rehabilitation of IDPs once peace is restored in the operation hit areas.
He called upon the govt officials to take care of their responsibilities and reach out all the 40 UCs where the IDPs were camped there and adhere to the distribution of relief goods to the affectees so that no body feel discrimination or injustice in the process.
Chief Minister during the briefing directed Senior Minister Shahram Khan Tarkai to visit the camps and health centers and look their availability of health related facilities. He further directed for the provision of food, water, health and other social sector services for the IDPs. He assured that the provision of funds for facilitating the affectees would not be a problem and even additional resources could be provided within no time.
He further assured that though the situation is difficult but our commitment is higher than the problems. He assured that the cash money would be provided to the affectees through Zong and smart cards.
The Chief Minister on this occasion approved recruitment of 500 police officials and directed the concerned police authorities to select them from the retired army and FC personnel of IDPs so that they could perform better duties of security for their IDPs camps etc.
