Peshawar: KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak Wednesday inaugurated computerized system of digital arms license in a simple but impressive ceremony. The computerized system besides abolition of the chances of all kinds of corruption and fake licenses will also bring transparency in the whole arms’ system of the Home Department.
Now the people instead of waiting for months will receive arms’ licenses in few days while the purchase and business of both arms and cartridges will also be simplified and legalized. Similarly the timely identification of the wrongdoers will also help in preventing crimes and unlawful activities while expenditure of both government and general public will cut down and govt income will register growth.
The ceremony was attended by Provincial Minister for IT, Shahram Khan Tarakai, Information Minister, Shah Farman Khan, Advisor to Chief Minister on Economic Affairs, Rafaqatullah Babar, Chairman, Chief Minister’s Complaints’ Cell, Haji Dilroz Khan, Secretary IT Zafar Iqbal, Special Secretary Home and Tribal Affairs Syed Alamgir Shah, Director IT, Bilal Jabbar, CEO E-payments & ICT Shakir Ullah , Nauman Raza Project Manager, Ziaullah Deputy Director IT (FATA) and other officials concerned.
The Chief minister while appreciating the role of Provincial Minister for IT, Shahram Khan Tarakai and Department of IT for successful completion of this important project of the Department of Home & Tribal Affairs attributed this revolutionary step of the provincial government to its ongoing efforts for visible improvement and transparency in all government departments and eradication of corruption.
The chief minister said that they assured the people that each step of his elected government will be taken in their interest and progress and will redress excess meet out to them during previous governments.
He said unfortunately, they assumed the power when the province was confronting critical lawlessness, terrorism and uncertain situation while corruption, incompetency and nepotism were reigning supreme in official machinery and government departments.
He said they are making efforts that the people should be proud of their historic decision of establishing PTI led coalition government in the province and with the passage of each day they will find all things changed and restore lost confidence of people on government institutions.
The chief minister besides directing extending the modern computerized arm’ license system to all Deputy Commissioners’ offices in the province and its linkage with National Tax Number (NTN), entry of arms’ dealers, National Identity Card (NIC) and computerized system of the Ministry of Interior to increase respect of our people and laws domestically, but also internationally, arrest the smuggling of arms and ammunition and promote the production of local arms factory and buying.
Furthermore, it should also prevent crimes effectively. He expressed satisfaction that now a constable through mobile sms can check the license of any person from anywhere and no one will face unnecessary inconvenience and the agony of waiting.
