Peshawar: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has urged Insaf Lawyers’ Forum (ILF) for activating the lawyers’ community of the province for the early accomplishment of the agenda of change of PTI and particularly for the provision of speedy and cheap justice to the poor to extend support to both judiciary and government in the achievement of the 100 targets.
He was talking to the delegations of the office bearers of ILF Nowshera and Takhtbai here in CM Secretariat, which separately called on him under the leadership of Malik Ibrar Khan and MPA Iftikhar Mashwani respectively and briefed him regarding problems faced by the lawyers’ community of their respective areas. Chairman, Chief Minister’s Complaints Cell, Haji Dilroz Khan, Secretary Law Mohammad Arfeen and Additional Advocate General Arshad Jan were also present on the occasion.
The delegations appreciated the agenda of change of the provincial government and progress made in this regard so far. They also assured complete cooperation to the government in the provision of cheap and speedy justice to the people.
On this occasion, Nisar Safi, Kamal Khan, Said Mohammad, Irfan Khattak, Muqaddar Khan, Usman Mohmand, Zahid Khan, Salman and Abubaker advocates of Takht Bhai Bar quit different political parties and announced joining ILF and after expressing full confidence in central and provincial leadership they expressed their resolve for offering any kind of sacrifice for the agenda of change and cause of the party.
The Chief Minister regretted that corruption and kickbacks had become the favourite hobbies of the past rulers, which was spread in the society like cancer. But, he said his govt is determined for battling this holy war of uprooting corruption to become conquerors.
He said they are making efforts to make this change durable and automated with legal covers and restore the confidence of the people so that they can get rights without bribing or influence. He said besides, legislation, govt has also made practical progress in this respect and situation in government departments, police stations and patwarkhanas had started improvement.
He said now no patwari, police personnel or government servant can receive bribe from anyone. He said in past corruption, nepotism and lawlessness were rampant, saying rulers with double standard forget their misdeeds, but people remember all. The people, he said were complaining of corruption and kickbacks at their peaks.
But, today all are acknowledging change & improvement in their government and telling him as well that now government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is moving in right direction. He said that besides, corruption and nepotism, PTI govt has also abolished the politics of revenge and even did not touch the recruitments made by the previous governments. He said the competent will continue to work while incompetent will have to go either they are why not our men.
While out rightly rejecting the demands for provision of funds to ILF for the welfare of lawyers’ community, the chief minister made it clear that they can give grants and funds to bar associations, but will never allow the revival of wrong practice of benefiting their blue-eyed. He said they had turned the politics of the distribution of plots, permits and funds in political workers as story of the past and urged the party workers to support him in this mission.
Talking about legislations of the provincial government for the changing of system, eradication of corruption, supremacy of merit, law, justice and provision of better social services, he attributed the laws of Right to Information (RTI), Ehtesab Commission, new local government system, access to services and conflict of interest as their big achievements. He said these laws will help in empowering people at grass-root level, eradication of corruption, guaranteeing transparency and provision of better services to the people.
The chief minister urged the members of ILF for extending beneficial suggestions to the government for further practical progress on these laws and furthermore extension of full cooperation to the government in more similar inevitable legislation and their implementation. He also urged the members of ILF for holding legal camps for provision of free legal advices to the people and provision of free legal services to poor, destitute and deserving people in the courts. He assured solution of all genuine problems of the delegation and issued on spot directives to concerned authorities for its early redressal.
