Peshawar: KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak will lead a procession in Peshawar today on Wednesday to lodge formal protest against excessive load-shedding in nook and corner of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He along with provincial Ministers and members of National/Provincial assemblies and parliament as well as people from cross section of life including traders community will start the protest march from Kernal Sher Shaheed Army Stadium Chowk at 9:00 AM sharp that will culminate at WAPDA house on Shami Road wherein Chief Minister will elaborate position of the govt and people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on load-shedding and indifferent policies of the federal govt towards this province.
It will be a unique phenomena in history of the country when the govt and people of a province that produces more cheap electricity than its needs will agitate hand in glow against excessive load-shedding.
The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa usually complain that besides the cruel load-shedding and reselling their cheap electricity on high rates on them, the federal govt has turn a deaf ear to their demand of paying the billions rupees of outstanding arrears and annual net profit while on the other hand they were also pushed in the unending problems of terrorism, unemployment, poverty and backwardness.
The people have been asked to reach to Kernal Sher Stadium Chowk by 9:00 AM. However the people have been advised not to bring vehicles with them because the protest march will be undertaken by foot in order to avoid traffic rush and facilitate the easy flow of traffic in the city. Similarly the local administration and traffic police have also been asked for better security and traffic arrangements and fixing of alternate routes for traffic.
