Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Muhammad Shehzad Arbab chaired a presentation on the planning and development department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa given to the participants of the 100th National Management Course at the Cabinet Room of Civil Secretariat, Peshawar on Wednesday.
Additional Chief Secretary Khalid Pervez, administrative secretaries P&D, home and tribal affairs, health, finance and other officers also attended the presentation. The participants were given detailed presentation on the overall administrative structure, reforms, projects cycle, the Annual Development Programme, its size and foreign aided initiatives.
The participants were also shown sector wise breakup of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa developmental strategy and were told that there had been an increase by 12 per cent in the size and capacity of the local components of the ADP 2014 and 51 per cent increase in the foreign assistance.
It was stated that in the ADP the total ongoing projects were 989 while the foreign aid had registered an increase of Rs. 35 billions. It was also stated that priority had been given to the mega projects in the Annual Development Programme.
The participants of National Management Course were fully apprised of the challenges being faced by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in comparison to the other provinces and were shown the overall graph of special reforms for the benefit of the poor people.
They were also apprised of the crime ratio and the incidents of terrorism during the last few years and were told that the ratio of crimes was on the rise as compared to the incidents associated with terrorism.
The chief secretary assured the participants that the government was fully implementing its reforms agenda and was sincere in the development of the province for the larger interest of the poor people. They were also informed of the after math of the government-Taliban expected talks and strategic development in this regard.
The participants expressed pleasure over the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government developmental strategy especially the reforms agenda and assured their full coordination to the government set up in carrying out their uplift measures.
