Peshawar: Jamat-e-Islami central Amir and senior minister Sirajul Haq has said that only ensuring rule of law can help to strengthen the institution otherwise people is losing confidence over state institution.
He said corruption is like cancer is very dangerous for the country and like polio elimination of corruption is very much important for survival of the country. He said the present system and politics is revolving to protect the interest of some individuals and VIP culture has pushed the country in to a quagmire.
Addressing Media conference at finance minister after inaugurating Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Public Procurement Authority (KPPPA) on Thursday Siraj said that until masses consider that their tax paid money will be embezzled they would not trust the government and would avoid paying taxes therefore elimination of corruption to restore public confidence is now vital .
“ VIP culture and corruption have discouraged the merit as well as skill therefore corruption has become the standard which in turn made all the institution redundant providing no relief to the people thus people now taking law in to their hands to get justice” he observed.
How come institutions could be strong in a country wherein law is being enforced to punish the poor and those having official slots and wealth are not bothering to face any legal action for violation of law, he remarked.
Siraj said that Khyber Pukhtunkhwa government is striving hard to eliminate corruption and for the purpose consultants have been hired for every schemes involving amount Rs 10 million.
With the help of consultants now commission in publish schemes would be curbed and no one would be allowed to embezzle public money, he said adding that establishment of KPPPA is another step to curve commission and set para meters for every department.
To a question senior minister said that annual budget for the financial year 2014-15 will be presented on date in between 10 to 14th June.
