Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Finance, Muzaffar Syed Advocate has said that government is intended to prepare budget 2015-16 with the consensus of respective departments and stakeholders to ensure judicious use of the available resources through efficient and accurate planning for the development and prosperity of the province.
This he said while presiding over a consultative meeting convened to deliberate over chalking out estimates for the next financial budget at the Committee Room of Finance Department, Civil Secretariat, Peshawar on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by Senior Minister Shahram Khan Tarakai, Minister for Information and Higher Education Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani , Minister for Irrigation Mehmood Khan, Minister for Agriculture Ikramullah Khan Gandapur, Minister for Revenue, Ali Amin Gandapur, Minister for Zakat, Usher and Religious Affairs, Habibur Rahman, Minister for Mineral Development, Ziaullah Afridi, Advisor to KP Chief Minister on Prisons, Malik Qasim, Advisor to KP Chief Minister Malik Shakeel Ahmad, Advisor to KP Chief Minister on Sports and Tourism Amjad Afridi, Advisor to KP Chief Minister on Communication & Works, Akbar Ayub, Advisor to Chief Minister on Inter Provincial Coordination Abdul Haq, Special Asstt: to Chief Minister of Transport and Technical Education Malik Shah Mohammad, Special Asstt: to Chief Minister on Industries and Commerce Abdul Muneen, Special Asstt: to Chief Minister on Housing Dr. Amjad, Special Asstt: to Chief Minister on Minority Affairs, Suran Singh and Special Assistant to Chief Minister for Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperative Mohibullah Khan. Administrative Secretaries and high ups of various departments also attended the meeting.
The sole objective of the meeting was to consult stakeholders about planning for the coming financial budget to prepare efficient estimates for development and prosperity of the province.
It is worth mentioning that the present government has started a series of consultative meetings with experts of public and private sectors to evolve workable budget estimates for effective mobilization of the resources of the province.
In the consultative meeting development plans and demands of higher education, information, Ushr and Zakat, revenue, agriculture, irrigation, mineral development, prisons, transport, mass transit and technical education, industries and commerce, population welfare, sports and tourism, communication & works, housing, inter provincial coordination, minority affairs, livestock, fisheries and cooperative departments were discussed.
Speaking on this occasion, Muzaffar Syed directed high ups of various administrative departments to chalk out priorities for the development of their respective departments and put forth concrete proposals for the next financial budget.
He went on to say that provincial government was well aware of the importance of various sectors and therefore intended to accommodate development proposals of various sectors in proper manner in the next budget. He said that provincial government would not disappoint inhabitants of the province and allocate resources according to their needs.
