Govt was taking practical steps for harmonizing the education system, Minister


Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Education Mohammad Atif Khan has said that the Provincial Government was taking practical steps for harmonizing the education system in line with the present modern era by introducing information technology in it.

He added that the Provincial Government was in close contact with national and international IT companies for establishment of IT Labs in Government schools of the Province.

This, he stated, while attending presentations of IT companies Clary Icon, Dell and Microsoft for establishment of IT Labs in Government schools of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at Peshawar on Tuesday. The presentations beside others were also attended by the Secretary Education, Ali Raza Bhutta, Additional Secretary, Qaiser Alam, IT experts and authorities concerned of the relevant departments. The Minister, on this occasion was briefed in detail on new technologies being introduced in IT sector.

The Minister maintained that Education was the high priority area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf furthering that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the only province of the country which allocate 27.4 % of its budget for education sector.

He added that the Provincial Government was focusing on a policy of education for all and for this purpose targeting the out of schools children. He continued that equipping every child of the Province with ornament of education was our mission and the government was making strenuous efforts to fulfil this mission.

Atif Khan said that the proposed IT Labs would be equipped with latest IT technologies and best IT teachers would be recruited for it through transparent manner. He re-affirmed that the education sector of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be made a role model for the entire country and funds for this sector would generously be allocated, the Minister added.
