Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Finance Muzaffar Syed Advocate has said that Pakistan and China are time tested friends and that is why provincial government will welcome any move for the establishment of strategic partnerships to further enhance cooperation and mutual understanding between the two countries.
This, he said while talking to a delegation of Chinese firm, Huawei Technologies, who called on him at the Conference Room of civil secretariat Peshawar on Monday.
The delegation was led by Jacky Zhang, Voice President of the firm.Reprensetatives of the Finanace,Home and Housing departments were present on the occasion.
The delegates termed friendly relations existing between Pakistan and China as deeper than ocean,higher than mountain and sweeter than honey.They informed,that Huawei had emerged as as a leading global Information Communication Technology (ICT) provider, covering 1 third of the world population having net work in 170 countries of the world.
The delegates expressed interest in establishing strategic partnership with the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to support each other in different sectors.The delegates showed willingness in providing technical and financial support in ICT,Education and capacity building in the province.
A committee headed by the Additional Secretary, Finance was formed to explore areas of mutual interest and possible cooperation between the provincial government and the Huawei Technologies to pave way for formal MOU signing.
The Finance Minister assured all out support of the provincial government for materializing cooperation between provincial government and the firm. “This is a good opportunity and we will honor it”, he remarked.
The minister asked for convening a joint meeting of the high ups of the concerned sectors and representatives of the firm to materialize the offer. He assured of removing all obstacles hindering the process of mutual cooperation.
