Imran to inaugurate “Cleanliness Drive” in Peshawar

Peshawar: The KP local Govt department has decided to launch 20-day cleanliness campaign in Peshawar that will be inaugurated by Chairman PTI Imran Khan during his visit of the provincial capital.

Decision to this effect was made during a meeting that was chaired by the KP Senior Minister for Local Govt, Elections and Rural Development (LGE&RD) InayatUllah Khan at his office LG secretariat in Peshawar on Monday afternoon. The meeting finalized arrangements of the Peshawar city visit of Imran Khan in especial context of cleanliness and security.

It besides Secretary LG&RD Syed JamaludDin Shah, Chief Executive of corporate body WSSP and Secretary Energy & Power Engr Qazi Mohammad Naeem, Secretary LCB Syed Zafar Ali Shah, Director General Local Govt Adil Siddique, DC Peshawar Riaz Mehsud, TMO town-1 Saleem Khan and other concerned officers was also attended by Distt Nazim Arbab Mohammad Asim Khan and Nazim Town One Haji Zahid Nadeem.

InayatUllah Khan strictly directed all the concerned departments to make provision of water supply, sewerage, hygiene and other basic amenities a regular feature of their activities as well as ensure timely and quality completion of the schemes of city beautification.

He cautioned that after inauguration of the cleanliness campaign by Imran Khan, he would pay surprise visit of the downtown city and would take stern action against the concerned high-ups instead of the subordinate staff. He made clear that prompt action would also be taken on any public complaint received by him in this respect.

He further asked for mustering the support and maximum participation of NGOs, students, teachers, lawyers, Ulema and other segments of society to make it a success story and give sense of ownership to the people.
