Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa senior minister for health, Shahram Khan Tarakai has assured the paramedical staff of health department that all their genuine demands including up gradation of posts and time scale promotions would be fulfilled on priority basis.
He has directed the concerned quarters of the department to notify a three member committee to come up with a feasible work plan to this effect after thoroughly reviewing the financial implications and legal matters involved.
He was talking to a delegation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Paramedical Association that made a call on meeting with him at his office here on Monday and apprised him of the problems faced by the paramedics and their demands. The delegation was led by provincial president of the association, Johar Ali.
Shahram termed the role of paramedical staff as of great importance in the delivery of health services to the public and said that no effort of the government to bring about reforms in the health sector would yield the desired results until the paramedics and other staff of the service delivery outlets were satisfied. ‘’I will work with personal interest to solve the issues faced by the paramedics and fulfil all their genuine demands’’, He assured adding that he will expect better performance in return.
The provincial minister warned that those with poor performance and negligent towards their duties would never be tolerated and be dealt with iron hands. He urged upon all the employees of health department to perform their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty, and thus supplement the government’s efforts to improve the service delivery of hospitals up to the needs and expectations of the public.
