Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information & Higher Education Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani Tuesday directed closure of Edward College for two weeks, due to unsatisfactory measures put in place.
He directed the school and colleges administration to strictly observe the code and parameters chalked out by the provincial government for the full proof security inside and around their educational institutions.
The minister visited Edward College and reviewed security measures for the institute and expressed dismay and directed Principal of the college to close the institute for next 15 days and complete all security arrangements as directed by provincial government.
On this occasion, the Principal assured the minister that all necessary security measures would be completed with the 15-days.
Mushtaq Ghani said that the kids are our future and provincial government will not compromise on the security of students, adding that all the educational institutions of KP are required to arrange well placed security, violation of which would be dealt strictly.
He said the provincial government has directed all the educational institution to reopen till they full-fill the security requirements. The Government has also introduced community policing and SOPs system to ensure the full proof security of the educational institutions.
The Minister also visited Edward Schools, Government Higher Secondary School Cantt and City, Centennial Model High School, Bacha Khan Girls College, Government College for Boys, Convent School Peshawar Cantt and other educational institutions.
