M meets Overseas Pakistanis and PTI UK President


Peshawar: The KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has called upon the overseas Pakistanis to extend generous donations for missing facilities in schools of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that he said is the best Jehad to convert the darkness of illiteracy and ignorance into the light of education.

He said all the details of missing facilities are available on website of Tameer-e-School programme which included class rooms, furniture, boundary walls, toilets, fans, water supply and other basic needs while any philanthropist can accept the responsibility of providing one or more missing facilities in any schools as per affordability.

“All these donations are transparently spent through Parents Teachers Councils (PTCs) while its progress, updates and fresh pictures are regularly uploaded on the website”, he added.

The Chief Minister termed it good omen in favour of K-P and its people that overseas Pakistanis especially the youth of PTI were seeing the reforms and changes at government level in K-P with high esteem and thus have become our spokespersons and ambassadors abroad.

They not only send us useful proposals for elimination of corruption, ensuring good governance in the province and fully support and encourage us in this regard but also endeavoring to enable us overcome our financial problems and revive our industrial and economic base here, he maintained.

He was talking to delegations of the overseas Pakistanis and PTI North West UK president Abdul Basit Shah Mashwani at CM House Peshawar. The provincial Minister for Higher Education and Information Mushtaq Ghani, Minister for Social Welfare Dr.Meher Taj Roghani and other concerned high-ups were also present on this occasion.

The participants of the delegations lauded the concrete steps of PTI led coalition govt for elimination of corruption and change of system as well as the dynamic role of Pervez Khattak in this regard.

They told that overseas Pakistanis wanted to see Khyber Pakhtunkhwa a model province in the real context and were also eager to play their due role in its progress and prosperity especially they were anxious about the education of the children over here.

Abdul Basit further told that he has come with a package of one thousand precious audio visual equipment for special people and other treatment facilities for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as well as donations of 200 thousand pounds of elected bodies of PTI for the party the cheque of which he would hand over to the party head Imran Khan by next day.

Pervez Khattak said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is replete with enormous natural resources and human talent but the only thing we needed is the best system and sincere leadership.  He said we are endearing to change the system and make it foolproof that always guaranteed the prosperity of developed countries.

He said that the basic reason of low literacy and backwardness over here was corruption and class based system of education that has divided the nation in two opposite groups and created the difference of rich and poor among them.  He said that the provincial govt has introduced one and same English medium education system in K-P to end such dual standards.

Hence, he said, we started the new education system to enable a poor child become best ruler and officer of the future. He thanked Overseas Pakistanis and PTI volunteers for sending donations for meeting the missing facilities of schools and termed it a good step for encouraging our children and promoting education here.

Pervez Khattak while thanking the delegation for the invitation to participate as chief guest in the workers conference in UK, said that though he would try but would not be able to proceed abroad due to his heavy schedule of engagements here in the province for maintaining peace and achieving the targets of education, health emergencies and reforms in so many other sectors, however he would send the concerned ministers and advisors for the purpose as, he said, economic growth and promotion of industrial, trade, commerce and tourism activities in the province were also among our top most priorities.

He said that there was large scope of investment in hydel and solar energy generation, housing, tourism, mineral exploitation and other sectors over here and it would be in larger interest of the nation and country if overseas Pakistanis could take benefit of enormous opportunities of investment available here.

He assured that all the necessary details, facilities and guarantees would be provided by the provincial govt to any interested parties in this regard.
