Peshawar: In order to improve the quality of life and reducing vulnerability of the marginalized communities at KP: a Memorandum of Understanding between Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Swiss Agency for Development & Cooperation (SDC) and Intercorporation has been signed today at Peshawar.
An MoU was signed by Dr .Hammad Uwais Agha, the Additional Chief Secretary KPK,) Mr. Mathias Weingart Country Director SDC, SCO-P and) Dr.Arjumand Nizami, Country Director IC-Peshawar being extended up to 31 December 2017 for which an amount of Rs 147,343,304 has been funded by SDC for such developmental activities at KP.
Swiss Development Cooperation was implementing two projects namely Livelihood Programme Hindukash (LPH) at the cost of 850 million, implemented in Chitral ,Lower Dir ,Swat,Karak and DI Khan districts from May 2012 to June 2015.The second project Water 4 Livelihood (W4L) at the cost of Rs 665.7 million ,implemented in Chitral, Karak, Tank, and D.I Khan Districts from Jan 2015 to December 2017.
The SDC has mandated Intercooperation (IC) with the implementation of these projects which aim at improving the quality of life and reducing vulnerability of marginalized communities.
The project interventions in KP were related to bring betterment in Agriculture/Livestock, Value Chain, on-Formal education, Disaster Risk Reduction, Adaptation to Climate Change and institutional building of community organizations (both male and female).
