Peshawar: NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has filed a reference of Rs. 29.5 Million against Bakhat Zamin, Principal Govt Vocational & Technical Training Centre on the charges of corruption, corrupt practices and misuse of authority in implementation of scheme of vocational training under FATA Rural Development Project.
The FATA Rural Development Project was implementing various initiatives for the uplift of FATA during 2008-2011. Accused Bakhat Zamin while in league with others pocketed millions of rupees reserved for hostel accommodation of poor students of FATA (Khyber, Mohamand & Bajur Agencies) and prepared 9 fake rent agreements with various hotel owners / property dealers to show that he had hired accommodation for the students.
Similarly he placed bogus invoices in the record claiming millions of expenditure. This is highly regretful that a person of higher educational level responsible for imparting education gets involved in such corruption & corrupt practices.
It merits mentioning that, NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has already recovered Rs. 2.4 Million through plea bargain (PB) from Ali Akbar and Syed Younis Shah Training Coordinators of FATA Rural Development Project of Bajour and Mohmand Agency.
Further NAB has shown its resolve to continue fight against corruption, and is actively pursuing such corruption cases including that pertaining to FATA.
