Peshawar: Deputy Commissioner Kohat Amjad Ali Khan, has said that polio was not the issue of individual but was of the whole nation and its early eradication was in the larger interest of the nation. If timely measures were not taken to weep out this menace, we, as a nation could face international ban, he added.
This, he said, while presiding over a meeting of District Polio Eradication Committee at Kohat on Thursday. The meeting beside others, was also attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kohat Fakhr-ud-Din, DHO Kohat Dr.Habib Khattak and Heads of Line Departments. The meeting thoroughly debated upon the arrangements, security plan, logistic support to Health Department and other related issues in detail and certain important decisions were taken in this respect.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the authorities concerned that those government officials who failed to report in time, should immediately be suspended and initiate departmental action against him.
He further directed to specially focus on chronic refusal cases and missed children and ensure polio vaccine to each and every child below the age of five years in the entire district. He furthered that making of polio campaign a success as per vision of the Government was our prime obligation and no leniency in this regard would be tolerated.
