Peshawar: The campaign launched on the directives of Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa against price hike, hoarding and adulteration is going on in full swing and 685 such cases have been registered against violators of law. A sum of rupees 23 lakh has been recovered as fine and 211 profiteers have been taken into custody. Moreover, several shops and factories has been closed and sealed in this respect.
This is part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government special reforms initiative in the province to control prices of essential commodities during the Holy month of Ramzan ul Mubarak.
It is to be recalled that general public can lodge their online complaints on toll free number 0800-33-800 and 8899 and also email on email@example.com and immediate action will be taken against their registered complaints, the system is accessible via url www.fpc.kp.gov.pk.
Directorate of Information Technology has nominated Focal persons in all districts and properly trained them on the Food Price Control System. The focal person will update the prices of different commodities fixed by the government in various districts which will also be posted on the portal.
All the magistrates have been tasked to ensure control of prices on governments prescribed rates; in this regard the high ups of police have been directed to ensure the provision of cops to escort the magistrates during their surprise visit to markets.
Food controllers and other concerned quarters will ensure their presence in vegetables markets during bidding hours in the morning so that the prices of food item could be controlled.
