Peshawar:,,, The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary & Secondary Education Muhammad Atif has said that the PTI led provincial government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa considers education a key factor for the real progress of the nation, that is why it has taken a number of steps to improve quality of education.
This he said while talking to a delegation at his office Civil Secretariat Peshawar on Tuesday. Muhammad Atif said for the first time in the history of the province, a huge amount of Rs. 96.057 billion has been allocated in the 2014-15 budget.
He said in the present era, the IT and computer knowledge for teachers as well as students was must, therefore, during financial year 2014-15, the government would operationalise 170 IT laboratories in existing government high and higher secondary schools.
He said the government would also provide computers in the high and higher secondary schools of the province so that all the related people could get basic knowledge of computer. He said for the purpose an amount of Rs. 507 million has been allocated.
Muhammad Atif said the PTI government, on the one hand was working on various plans to encourage the students to show their talent while on the other hand, it would give incentives to best performing school teachers, headmasters and principals. For the purpose an incentives programme worth Rs. 50 million would be started during next year, the Minister Elementary & Secondary Education concluded.
