Peshawar: A Special anti polio drive under the “Sihat Ka Ittehad” Programme concluded in nineteen districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. During the three days campaign 2.002 million children under the age of five years were administered anti polio drops across the province which is more than 90 per cent of the total target set for the campaign.
According to a report of olio Emergency Operation Centre cent per cent target was achieved in district Abbottabad, 97 per cent in Bannu, 100 percent in Buner, 102 percent in Chitral, 95 percent in D.I.Khan, 102 percent in Dir Lower, 101 percent in Hangu, 99 percent in Haripur, 98 percent in Karak, 17 percent in Kohat, 112 percent in Kohistan, 99 percent in Lakki Marwat, 94 percent in Malakand, 91 percent in Mansehra, 100 percent in Mardan, 27 percent in Nowshera, 98 percent in Tank and 99 percent in Torghar. Refusal cases have also been reported in some districts. Total number of such cases is 6450 while 3400 children were not available during the drive
