Peshawar: Two Khasadar Force personnel sustained bullets injuries when unknown militants attacked the on-duty Khasadar party here at Ali Masjid area of tehsil Jamrud, sub-division of Khyber Agency, official sources informed on Saturday.
The sources said the armed clash took place after a sudden offense initiated by undisclosed militants injuring three persons of Khasadar force.
In retaliation, the armed persons were forced to flee, a Khasadar said. One militant was shot injured who later expired, Khasadar claimed, however, it could not be confirmed by militants.
Soon after the incident, officials of political administration and security officials rushed to the scene, cordoned off the whole area and shifted the wounded identified as Arif Khan and Saifullah Khasadar to the nearest health centre, sources said.
A massive search operation was launched in the area to trace out the culprits, sources said. The law and order situation has been deteriorating day by day in Jamrud area of Khyber Agency.
The other night armed militants hit the main gate of the residence of a political moharar in the same Jamrud area, however, no casualties were reported in the incident. People have been fearing amid growing uncertainty in Jamrud areas and they may be forced to form armed peace lashker to assist security forces to create peace and restore government writ in the area, which may further worsen the situation.
Independent tribal analysts opine that residents of Jamrud by and large would follow the N. Waziristan like situation to flee the area and live a life of displaced persons.
