Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Mineral Development, Ziaullah Afridi on Wednesday visited Cherat Cement Factory Nowshera. The Minister was also accompanied by the officers of Mineral Development Department including Commissioner Mines Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ziarat Khan, Chief Inspector Mines, Fazle Raziq, Asstt: Director Minerals Peshawar, Asmat Ali, Asstt: Director Minerals Nowshera Dost Mohammad and Surveying and Drawing Officer, Mohammad Rafiq.
Provincial Minister inspected the mining activities of factory in details and showed his observations over the tax paid by the factory owners and warned that tax should be paid according to the real production. He further stated that certain factory owners intended to show the less production to reduce the tax amount.
He made it clear that no one would be permitted to harm the state treasury. He also directed the concerned authorities to formulate an effective strategy to ensure transparency in production and royalty. The Minister said the present provincial government has already taken reformative initiatives to ensure transparency throughout the province.
Therefore, all the provincial departments, institutions, factories and concerned authorities should play their vital role to achieve the said goal of the PTI government, he concluded.
