Doctors Delegation Meets Khattak


Peshawar: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that doctors are very important, honourable and civilized segment of society and the government is fully aware of the problems faced by them and taking serious measures for its resolution particularly for guaranteeing their protection.

Talking to a delegation of doctors here in his office CM Secretariat Peshawar on Wednesday, he urged the doctors to instead of coming out on roads and staging demos for the problems resolution they should adopt the traditional civilized procedure while keeping in view the gravity of the situation and cooperate with government in prevalent difficult situation.

The doctors’ delegation led by Dr. Shahsawar discussed matters relating to problems facing the doctors’ community, particularly the prevention of the incidents of kidnapping and target killing and their pending cases of promotions.

Advisor to Chief Minister for Mineral Development Ziaullah Afridi and Chairman District Development Advisory Committee (DDAC) Peshawar Ishtiaq Urmar were also present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister said that security is not concern of only doctors but of the every section of life, saying guaranteeing protection to the life and properties of the people is one of the top priorities of the present government. For this purpose, he said the provincial government is taking all out measures. However he said one must also understand the war like situation in the region over here.

Regarding pending cases of the promotions of doctors, the chief minister contacted the concerned authorities and directed them for taking steps for the disposing of all such cases as soon as possible.

He assured the delegation that not only all 1400 pending cases of promotion would be disposed of rather vacancies falling vacant due it would also be filled with new recruitments to meet the deficiency of doctors in all medical institutions and provide all necessary health facilities to the people.

The chief minister said that the present provincial government will not allow brain-drain due to unrest in the province and cordial environment would be provided to all people including doctors. He said that he is the representative of the people and is fully aware of their problems. He said he has no personal agenda and has joined politics with the only mission of the service of masses and would accomplish this mission at every cost.

Pervez Khattak assured the delegation that construction work on the boundary wall of Hayatabad is in final phases while Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) besides installation of CCTV cameras have also been directed for patrolling and other security related measures.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister directed the concerned authorities for the payment of compensation to the heirs of deceased Dr. Yar Mohammad Jadoon of Swabi and assured that all problems of doctors would be resolved at higher level on priority basis. For this purpose, he said, the Provincial Minister for Health, Shaukat Yousufzai has been handed over the responsibilities as well.

The doctors’ delegation thanked the Chief Minister for taking personal interest in the resolution of their problems and issuance of on spot directives to authorities concerned and assured full cooperation in this regard.
