Peshawar: PIA Air League demands rise in salaries PIA Air League Employees have demanded of the government and airline management to implement 45 percent surge in their salary and regularization of all daily wages employees of Pakistan Airlines PIA.
The activists of air league of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz PMLN made the demand during a protest demonstration against the Pakistan People’s Party PPP here on Sher Soori Shah Road on Monday. Provincial president of air league Rahat Iqbal and general secretary Arif Jan were leading the demonstrators.
Holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the PIA management and PPP-led government and the PIA People’s unity and demands as PIA cabin crew allowances, we have been getting 60 percent less since 1999, save our future from corrupt and unprofessional mafia, they were raising their full throat slogans in favour of their demands.
Speaking on the occasion, they said that the PIA management had assured employees of the airline to 45 percent increase in their salary through Memorandum of Understanding MoU with Collective Bargaining Agent CBA People’s unity some two months back but they lamented it was yet to be implemented.
The employees of daily wages, they said despite announcement by the PPP-led government for their regularization on December 2010 but unfortunately they were still working on daily wages only six thousands rupees.
They, therefore, demanded of Managing Director MD and Chairman of PIA to implement the said MoU immediately otherwise they would be compelled to adopt other.
