Peshawar: A five members’ team of the Refugees Affected and Hosting Areas (RAHA) Programme Khyber Pakhtunkhwa visited to Punjab Rural Support Programme (PRSP) regional office in Sialkot, aimed to develop linkages and sharing mutual experiences and issues at the community level.
The three-day exposure visit was arranged under the RAHA-KP Programme, a project implemented by UNDP with financial support of Japan. The visiting team of RAHA KP was comprised on Irfan Khan as team leader, Engineer Fahim Durrani, Social Organiser Amina Bibi, and Shamila Bibi, along with two members of the local community.
During the first day of the visit, the RAHA-KP team briefed by Regional Manager about main activities and role of PRSP Sialkot at regional office, followed by visited to Village Organisation Balochak, Union Council Sahowal and LSO Kopra Union Council Kopra near Wazirabad district Sialkot.
The presidents VOs and LSO also briefed the RAHA KP team about process of CO towards formation of a VO/LSO and all the development work done through PRSP and self initiative of community for their appraisal.
RAHA team also visited football stitching unit, surgical instruments and leather jackets unit operated by community under the micro financing segment of PRSP. At the concluding day of the visit, the Regional General Manager PRSP was conducted a session at regional office Sialkot with staff. The visiting RAHA-KP team sharing mutual knowledge, and give various recommendations and proposal during the open discussion.
