Islamabad: A magistrate of Islamabad‚ Farrukh Nadeem has been arrested by police on the charges of receiving bribe of 1.5 million rupees in a land transfer case.
According to media reports His arrest was made on the order of Islamabad High Court (IHC). Farrukh Nadeem was arrested by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) from the Islamabad High Court premises after a single bench, comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, cancelled his protective bail granted by Lahore High Court.
The accused had filed a plea for extension in interim bail, stating that the case filed against him was baseless and untrue. Meanwhile, the court dismissed his plea and ordered the arrest of Farrukh Nadeem, a former Tehsildar Magistrate. The court also cancelled his protective bail granted by Lahore High Court.
