Police begins removing roadside encroachments

Karachi: Police on Saturday began to remove roadside encroachments and wrong parking from the I I Chundrigar Road area of the city.

Heavy presence of regular and traffic police was seen on the road. They removed encroachments and stopped wrong parking on this busy road. Resultantly, a visible betterment was seen in the traffic flow on the street in morning rush hours.

Chronic traffic jams have become the hallmark of Karachi roads in downtown areas. The roads of district South are clogged due to massive roadside encroachments and illegal parking. The police should focus on the areas of Empress Market, Regal, Jahangir Park, Rainbow Center, New M A Jinnah Road and New Preedy street, where hundreds of vendors and pushcart men have occupied the roads and footpaths.

These areas also need to be cleared from parking of buses and coaches at illegal bus terminals, besides the illegal parking of car showroom owners of the New M A Jinnah Road on footpath and road needs to be ended strictly.
