Police patrolling planned in markets of sacrificial animals

Karachi: To deter the incident of looting of traders of sacrificial animal during Eidul Azha season the police have been asked to ensure coordinated patrolling and vigil in all cattle markets of the city, including the biggest ‘animal mandi’ at Superhighway.

Inspector General Police Sindh Shahid Nadeem Baloch in this regard has instructed police and other law enforcing agencies should chalk out a coordinated plan in the light of the experiences of past year to provide foolproof security to all licensed cattle markets of the city.

He said all central roads and side streets leading to cattle markets would be strictly patrolled along with random snap checking. Motorcycle patrolling and picketing would be ensured at all link roads.

In the central cattle market of Superhighway temporary wireless base and watch towers would be erected. Bomb disposal squad would also remain fully active in busy areas and parking lots of the cattle markets. Alternate routes would also be devised to facilitate the visitors of these cattle markets.
