Karachi, October 12, 2021 (PPI-OT): A meeting of the Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Department was held under the chairmanship of Mukesh Kumar Chawla, Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Department and Parliamentary Affairs and Food, here on Monday.

The meeting was also attended by Secretary Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Raja Khurram Shehzad Umar, Director Generals Munir Ahmed Zardari, Haji Saleem Bhutto and other concerned officers. Details of collection of property tax from July 2021 to September 2021 were presented in the meeting.

The meeting was informed that property tax of Rs 621.612 million was collected from Karachi, Rs 29.215 million from Hyderabad and Rs 11.713 million from Sukkur. The meeting was further informed that Rs 2.866 million from Shaheed Benazirabad in terms of property tax Rs 4.086 million was received from Larkana and Rs 2.388 million from Mirpurkhas.

Addressing the meeting, Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Department and Parliamentary Affairs and Food Mukesh Kumar Chawla said that action against property tax defaulters should be expedited and the teams formed for this purpose should be made more active. He said that property tax defaulters should be encouraged to deposit their due taxes through social media and other means and strict action should be taken against those who do not do so.
