Islamabad, August 17, 2021 (PPI-OT):The National Assembly Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) met today at 11:00 AM in Committee Room No. 5, Parliament House, Islamabad under the Chairmanship of Mr. Nawab Sher, MNA.
2. The meeting started with recitation from the Holy Quran. Chairman Standing Committee welcomed the Minister for IPC, Members of the Committee and other Participants. Secretary Ministry of IPC briefed the Committee about the mandate of the Ministry under Rules of Business 1973 and the organizational structure Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination Division.
He further apprised the Committee about Human Resource (Main Ministry and Departments, Budget allocation, functional wings, Achievements of Administration wing, CCI wing, progress on establishment of permanent Secretariat of CCI, Inter Provincial Coordination Committee IPCC).
He apprised the Committee that at present all four Provincial Ministers of Sports are member of IPCC instead of Chief Ministers. He also briefed the Committee about other component departments and wings and their achievements he informed the Committee that CCI Wing Secretariat has been established and soon will be separate.
The Secretary also informed the Committee that we are preparing for 2023 Safe Games and the development budget (PSDP) has been increased three times. Minister of IPC informed the Committee that the last National Sports Policy was formed in 2005 therefore new Sports Policy was very essential. The Minister assured the input of the Committee will be incorporated. She informed the Committee that after approval of the Cabinet, new policy will be shared with the Standing Committee.
The Committee unanimously recommended that the services of Mr. Arif Hassan, President, and Pakistan Olympics Association (POA) may be withdrawn because of poor performance and his controversial election, as soon as possible and directed to make changes for the betterment of sports at the earliest. The Committee also recommended that all Sports Federations must have to accountable for foreign and local funding before the Committee and Ministry of IPC.
The Committee also recommended that the Chief Ministers of all four Provinces may be requested to provide 2 accors land in every village for the sports purpose and directions in this regard may be forwarded to concerned DCOs. The Committee also recommended that talented children’s in sports may be provided jobs, their salaries, allowances may be increased.
3. While discussing agenda time No 3 regarding the prevention of offences in Sports bill, 2020 moved by Mr. Iqbal Muhammad Ali Khan MNA, the Ministry of IPC informed the Committee that already a bill in this regard is in progress. The Committee directed the representative of Ministry of Law to present a report on the Bill in the next Committee meeting.

5. The meeting was attended by MNAs: Mr. Mehboob Shah, Mr. Gul Dad Khan, Mr. Gul Zafar Khan, Haji Imtiaz Ahmed Chaudhary, Ms. Robina Jamil, Mr. Shoukat Ali Bhatti, Mst. Shaheen Naz Saifullah, Mr. Iqbal Muhammad Ali Khan, Ch. Zulfiqar Ali Bhinder, Rana Mubashir Iqbal, Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Behan, Ms. Shahida Rehmani, Ms. Nasiba Channa, and Syed Faiz ul Hassan and Officers/Officials of the Ministry and its attached Departments.
