PTI demands deweaponization of Karachi

Karachi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Member Central Executive Committee Firdous Shamim Naqvi deemed it essential for peace in Karachi to do away with weapon deposits.

He said that Sind Government should step forward and make efforts in place of broadcasting statements only. While speaking to a delegation of business people at his office in GulshaneIqbal, he said, “Police and rangers should be authorized to eradicate target killing, terrorism, extortions and other crimes. Only a peaceful environment can bring economical activities back to life in, once, The City of Lights.”

For the same, the rulers should act responsibly irrespective of their political affiliations. Firdous continued, “The people of Karachi had taken part in several movements for democracy, in past. This city is similar to a flower bouquet that includes all the beautiful colours of different cultures of Pakistan in it. A few foes have been actively blazing the fire of racism and sectarianism here. Since the city is a significant ingredient of Pakistan, Provincial Government should act against the criminal elements without considering all the disparities.”
