Peshawar: Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Asad Qaiser said on Thursday that comprehensive development was need of the hour that was why the PTI led provincial government despite a number of challenges had vowed to get the province rid of problems and materialized the dream of positive change. He said under the Provincial Priority Reforms, immediate steps were being taken to ensure streamlining the departments in the province on modern lines, making services delivery more effective, eradicating corruption and strengthening accountability process that, he wished, would bring far lasting and solid results.
Asad Qaiser said the continuous war against terror as well as a number of other problems had made the people of the province disappointed but the PTI leadership had a spirit to face challenges and by implementing the provincial priority agenda, a peaceful and prosperous Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would hopefully emerge.
He expressed these views as a chief guest at the concluding session of a workshop regarding Provincial Priority Reforms and Action Plan at Peshawar. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister, Sirajul Haq, MPAs, Additional Chief Secretary Khalid Pervez, Parliamentary Secretary for Planning and Development, Khaliqur Rehman, Secretaries of provincial departments, Additional Chief Secretaries, members of working groups, concerned authorities of other institutes as well as media representatives were present on the occasion.
Expressing his satisfaction over the performance of working groups, Asad Qaiser said acting upon the reforms programs of the provincial government; real progress and a visible change would take place. He asked the heads of government institutes, bureaucrats and administration to serve the people through their collective efforts, as that would be deemed as fulfilling their official obligations. He made it clear that al out steps were being taken to save the masses from the menace of terrorism and militancy and soon the KP province would be transformed into changed province that would be a role model for other provinces.
He said the departments including education, health, industries and transport could play a pivotal role in the development of the society therefore; every effort would be made for their strengthening. The Chief Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak should hold
a joint meeting with the concerned ministers and secretaries of higher education and transport departments to solve the problems confronted to these departments, he opined.
