7 including DSP injured in clash with lawyers

QUETTA: Seven persons including six police man and a lawyer were injured in a clash here Wednesday. Lawyers damaged tow police vehicles. Seven persons including a lawyers and police man including a DSP were injured in the clash.

According to details a lawyer Dr Qasim Advocate was going for hearing of his case in District Kutchery here today. He exchange hot words with police officials posted at the g ate of Kutchery. Police men beat him and injured him.

This infuriated lawyers who took to road. They staged sit in at Mannan Chowk under the leadership of President Balochistan High Court Bar Association and suspended traffic.

Police officers talked to the protesting lawyers and assured them of taking action against police men. Lawyers said that they should be showed copy of case to them at the dharna or they would not end their sit in.

In the meanwhile some lawyers attacked mobile vehicle of DSP Muhammad Khan and beat policemen. Police resorted to aerial firing. Shops along Jinnah road, Kandahar bazaar were closed for fear.

During clash on the occasion six police men including DSP Khan Muhammad, Gunman Abdul Khaliq, Driver Noor Ali, constables Adnan, Syed Raza, Abdul Jaleel, Naseebullah were injured.

Police fired warning shots in air and people started running here and there in fear.

Lawyers blocked roads by burning tyres in various parts. Later they ended their dharna and called emergency meeting and held detailed review of the incident.

Balochistan Bar Association and Balochistan High Court Bar Association announced boycott of courts T Thursday and staging demonstration in District courts compound.
