Quetta: At least 13 people died and more than 100 others injured in a train accident at Mach town near here on Tuesday.
Rawalpindi-bound Jaffer Express met the accident in Bolan area near Aab Gum railway station due to brake failure. The engine and many bogies of the train derailed. As a result, 13 people including train driver, assistant driver and two cops died on the spot.
Rescue teams of civil and law enforcing agencies reached the spot and shifted the injured to hospitals of Mach and Quetta. Army helicopters were used to shift the injured to hospitals. Condition of many injured was termed critical.
