QUETTA: Balochistan assembly unanimously adopted a resolution condemning murderous attack of renowned anchor person Hamid Mir when the House assembled here Tuesday.
Resolution was moved by leader of Opposition Maulana Abdul Wasay. He said a murderous attack was made on Hamid Mir a well known anchor person while he was coming to his office from airport in Karachi couple of days. Well known journalists have been killed earlier by targeting them.
This House not only strongly condemns these dirty acts but also demands of federal government to ensure arrest of all accused involved in these incidents.
Information Minister Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal while supporting the resolution said that it should be from entire house. He aid we pay homage to Hamid Mir for his bold journalistic work and strongly condemned the incident.
He said Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch and others went to Aga Khan Hospital today. Dr Malik announced if Hamid Mir liked Government of Balochistan was ready to bear all expenses of the hospital of his treatment.
He expressed pleasure that journalists ended their boycott of assembly proceedings today. He aid to avoid any difficult situation it is necessary no one should take law into hands. Legal and constitutional process can be adopted for resolving matters. We have to give up manhandling and murders. He said such incidents must be adopted.
Maulana Wasay said that Hamid Mir was punished for speaking truth. Representative assembly of Balochistan condemns this incident. Chief Minister while representing the province offered to bear treatment expenses of Hamid Mir. It is good move.
Shaikh Jaffar Mandokhel (PML), Zamrak Achakzai (ANP), Asim Kurd Galloo (PML-N), Yasmeen Lehri (National Party) also spoke on the resolution. They supported the resolution and condemned murderous attack on Hamid Mir.
Abdul Rehman Khetran (JUI) said no charge should be levelled on any institution. He said a neighbouring country showed mudslinging on our army. Judicial Commission comprising three judges of Supreme Court has been constituted which would probe the matter. If they hold any one responsible for it he should be punished. He regretted that FIR of the incident has not yet been.
