BHC seeks reply on plea of Khozad
Quetta: Balochistan High Court asked the federal government to submit reply within 10 days regarding the citizenship and disqualification of Ahmed Ali Khozad, General Secretary of Hazara Democratic Party and Ex-MPA of Balochistan Provincial Assembly.
A two-member bench of Balochistan High Court comprising Justice Tahira Safdar and Justice Ejaz Swati heard the appeal of Ahmed Ali Khozad, Ex-MPA of Hazara Democratic Party against his disqualification on the charges of being an Afghan national.
Zahoor Ahmed Advocate appeared before the court on behalf of Ahmed Ali Kohzad while Deputy Attorney General Abdullah Jan Advocate appeared before the court on behalf of federal government.
Advocate Zahoor Ahmed Advocate argued that his client had contested election four times, but when he won the election, he was declared non-Pakistani and disqualified. He prayed that the verdict of 24th October may be suspended.
Justice Ejaz Swati inquired whether the said decision would affect the notification of Election Commission. The lawyer replied that they were challenging the decision of federal government instead of Election Commission.
The Honourable Court ordered the federal government to submit reply within 10 days and the hearing was adjourned.
