QUETTA: Imparting higher education among youth is imperative to develop positive thinking among them. Besides attracting them towards other extracurricular activities Sports is necessary for a healthy society. Through Education only we can face challenges of 21 st century and making Balochistan literate we can bring it to the demands of modern age.
These views were expressed by Balochistan Chief Minister while addressing closing ceremony of Spring Olympiad of Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) here Wednesday.
He said role of BUITEMS was not hidden to any one for the promotion of higher education in the province.
He said literate Balochistan is among our top of priorities and to materialize this dream institutions like BUITEMS have model roles.
Congratulating Vice Chancellor BUITEMS Engineer Ahmed Farooq Bazai and his team over successful holding of Olympiad, Chief Minister announced rupees 20 million for promotion f Sports in the University. He also announced rupees 10 thousand each for all players who won positions.
Chief Minister appreciated services of Ahmed Farooq Bazai and urged for setting up more institutions as of BUITEMS.
Vice Chancellor BUITEMS Engineer Ahmed Farooq Bazai addressing ceremony said we have been directing all our financial and human resources towards the overall development and wellbeing of our youth with even more aggressive pursuits and undertakings by creating opportunities for students to discover their intellectual and physical capabilities during their course of studies at BUITEMS.
He said we at that BUITEMS provide an environment which enables students and teachers to flourish upon innovation, empowering them to act on their entrepreneurship skills, research ideas and means for promotion of social, cultural and sports talent. Engineer Ahmed Farooq Bazai said multipurpose sports complex and gymnasium provide facilities for fitness training and games such as volleyball, badminton, tennis, table tennis, basketball etc. we at BUITEMS have formed a very energetic team of young men and women who design year long calendar of physical activities, games and athletic competitions. He said that all programs scheduled during sports week will be successful operationally and logistically. We are in the process of creating a permanent sporting legacy and we know that we have to offer even more opportunities to our youth in future.
He said we have to keep on transforming to remain in the race of progressive institutions responsible for intellectual spiritual and physical development of Leaders to be and act upon a dynamic “system design approach” acceptable globally. Culture is not about merely languages, religions, customs and the like it also includes achievements of nations in sports on the national and international arenas he added.
He said to break the prevailing stale status of educational institutions in the society BUITEMS has to take steps faculty development, infra structure development, strengthening laboratories, opening new faculties and programs of studies.
Chief Minister also watched different items presented by Students. He also visited Paper Festival organised by Students of Fine Arts Department and appreciated goods prepared by papers and other work.
Chief Minister also distributed cheques of Rupees one hundred thousand (100.000/-) each among gold medallist students of 9 th convocation of University.
