QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has said to ensure attendance of teachers EMIS system is inevitable. It would help trace ghost schools and teachers. He said appointments through NTS would help end corruption and sifarish culture and no leniency in this regard would be tolerated.
He said this while inaugurating Education Management Information System website in collaboration with Education Department and UNICEF here Monday.
Provincial Secretary Secondary Education Abdul Saboor Kakar briefed about aims and objectives of the website.
Chief Minister said EMIS website is a revolutionary step about education. It would improve our education system and every one can access to fresh information about education on daily basis. He said for betterment of education system it is necessary to ensure presence of teachers for which establishing this website was very much necessary. It is a revolutionary step in the field of education. He said he was sure that system introduced by UNICEF and Education Department would yield better results and it would matter of proud for him that he would work not only as Chief Minister but as a worker as well.
Congratulating Education Department he expressed the hope that with this system, better education facilities would be ensured to the children in the province.
He said deteriorated law and order situation during the past some years badly affected education sector like other sectors. However du to effective steps of the government law and order situation was improving in the province which would have positive impacts on education department and education process would continue at the private and public sector educational institutions uninterruptedly in far flung areas of the province.
Earlier Abdul Saboor Kakar briefing about EMIS said that earlier no correct information about schools, teachers and students were not available and there were difficulties in pointation of ghost schools and teachers. Through this system information correctly obtained concrete planning would be made and secondary and higher education would be part of this system.
He said student profiling data has been introduced through this system which is not available in any other province. He said government school teachers would be given smart cards in which all the information about teachers would be available.
At the end Chief Minister gave Rupees one hundred thousand cash award and certificate to Malik Masood a Balochistan student who secured first position in speech contest in America.
