JI blames US policies for turmoil on Muslim countries

Quetta: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, has said that the US and its policies were responsible for the terrorism in the Muslim countries and horrible wars were going on in thirteen Muslim states because of these.

Addressing a press conference at Quetta, he said that lawlessness and terrorism all over the world was because of the US. The US dropped nuclear bombs in Japan putting to death millions of people. The US was bent upon destroying the sovereignty of other states to occupy their resources. It had thrust war on different Muslims states to further divide the Muslim world, and to achieve this end, racial, ethnic and sectarian differences were being promoted in the Muslim states. The US had attacked Afghanistan on the pretext of the 9/11 tragedy and had reduced that country into a graveyard.

However, he said, that partial responsibility of the present state of affairs in the country also rested with our own people because we could not emerge as a single nation during the last 65 tears and took pride in our tribes, sects and race. He said that Europe was getting united to give respectable living to its people and added that Pakistanis would also have to follow them. As long as Islam does not become the ideology of the country, none of our problems could be solved, he added.

Sirajul Haq said there was no dearth of resources in the country; however, the problem lays with the unequal distribution of resources which was increasing poverty and sense of deprivation among the people. He said there was a confrontation between the oppressed and the oppressor in the country and the JI was striving to unite the workers and the downtrodden on one platform against the feudal lords and the tyrants.

The JI chief said that the Baloch were patriotic people and instead of pushing them to the corner, efforts should be made to bring them closer.

He said the issue of Balochistan could be taking the leadership into confidence. He said the present silence could lead to an uprising and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should show political acumen and meet the Baloch leaders to resolve the situation. He said that the Balochistan package announced by former Premier Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani should be implemented fully.

Referring to the Karachi situation, Sirajul Haq said there was the monopoly of a single party in the port city which was the main obstacle in the restoration of peace. He said that there was no single community in Karachi. Instead, lakhs of the Pushtoons, Baloch, and the Punjabis and were residing in Karachi. However, the media and the administration in Karachi was hostage to a single party. He said it was the responsibility of the federal government to establish rule of law and merit in Karachi for restoration of peace.

The JI chief rejected the proposed change in the Gowadar-Kashghar route and said any such attempt would be fully resisted.
