Quetta-Chaman highway remains blocked for 15 hours

QUETTA: Chaman highway remained blocked at Mazai Addaha for over 15 hours in protest to attack on political and tribal leaders. Highway was opened after assurance of administration. Situation was tense.

According to details PMAP leader Malik Obedullah and his brother Malik Habibullah were going to their home from their petrol pump last night. When they reached near Al Wakeel Petrol Pump, armed motorcyclists hiding there opened fire. They were injured.

This infuriated the people who blocked Quetta-Chaman highway which remained blocked for 15 hours. It caused serious difficulties for the traveling people, patients particularly women and children. Hundreds of vehicles stranded on both sides of the highway.

On the appeal of Anjuman Tajiran shutter down was also observed in Mazadi Addah. All the business centres and shops remained closed.

Assistant commissioner Killa Abdullah Shaikh Ejaz Ahmed and others reached and held talks. They were assured of legal action against those involve dint he attack. On their assurance highway was opened.

Situation in Mazai Addah and adjoining areas remained tense but no untoward incident was reported.
