Same group involved in 15 target killing incidents: DIG Quetta
Quetta:Deputy Inspector General of Police, Quetta Abdul Razaq Cheema said that the victim of target killing, retired police officer Naeem Kakar had not requested for security.
Addressing a press conference here Sunday, he said in previous 15 incidents of target killing, one group is involved. The threat of terrorism is still present.
He was also accompanied by the Sector Commander of FC Brigadier Tasawar.
DIG Abdul Razaq Cheema informed that Naeem Kakar was targeted when he was going to offer prayers. Special wings, agencies and police are investigating into the case and their results would be shared with the media.
While commenting on security to be provided to the procession of 12th Rabi-ul-Awal, DIG Quetta said that processions will come out from 13 points in Quetta. He said 3 thousand personnel of Police, Balochistan Constabulary and Anti-Terrorist Force would be deployed to provide security to the processions.
Apart from that, FC personnel will also perform their duty to maintain law and order situation. Levies would be assigned the duties of security on mountains.
In order to control traffic, 4 hundred personnel of police would be deployed.
DIG informed that all the routes of processions will be checked by the Special Branch. Six walkthrough gates would be installed at the entrance of processions and simultaneously, the route of processions would be observed through helicopters and CCTV cameras.
Abdu Razaq Cheema said that survey of shops, hotels, houses, markets and residential areas has been completed in connection with processions of 12th Rabi-ul-Awal and security passes will be issued to those Police and FC Personnel who will perform their duties.
About the Safe City Project, Cheema said that the project of Safe City is with the Law Department and Consultant. He said we are also waiting that the project of Safe City is completed forthwith. Commenting on the problem of traffic and parking, Abdul Razaq Cheema said that all the institutions will have to coordinate with each other in this regard.
