Senator-Doctors delegation

QUETTA: Balochistan is a poor and backward province. Heavy responsibility lays on doctors to discharge their duty with honesty and serve suffering humanity in the province. Serving Humanity is a prayer which the doctors owe indebted.

These views were expressed by Senator Humayun Khan Mandokhel while speaking to a delegation from Balochistan in Islamabad.

He appealed to the Chief Minister and Members of Parliament from Balochistan taking steps for activation of all government hospitals at district level and every hospital in the districts should be equipped with ultra sound, X-ray machines, laboratories, necessary machinery, wards, beds, ambulances, emergency department, supply of medicines and shortage of doctors.

He said medical staff should be punctual for its duty to serve humanity and people should be given an atmosphere where they accord priority for treatment at the government hospitals. He said a law should be passed by provincial assembly that doctors would not make private practice. They should choose one either government service or private job. Clinics, hospitals and private practice of doctors should be stopped. Making functional government hospitals at the district level would discourage costly private hospitals and they would become isolate and doctors would prefer to adopt government jobs.
