QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister DR Abdul Malik Baloch has said that provincial government was fully aware of problems of Nasirabad and all necessary steps were being taken in this regard.
This he said while speaking to former Prime Minister Zafarullah Jamali who called on him here Sunday. Zafarullah Jamali apprised Chief Minister of problems of Nasirabad particularly reduction in canal water share of Balochistan, dilapidated condition of banks of Pat Feeder Canal.
Chief Minister said that available resources have been provided for flood affected Pat Feeder Canal and Kirthar Canal’s repair. He said Baluchistan’s agriculture development and economy rests on these tow canals. Federal Government assistance would be sought for improvement and rehabilitation of these canals and saving population form floods in Nasirabad and Jaffarabad.
He said Irrigation Department was carrying out desilting of Pat Feeder canal to increase its flow. He aid matter of supply of water to Balochistan according to its share would be taken up at the Council of Common Interest.
They also held detailed exchange of views on political situation in the country and Balochistan, ongoing development projects and mutual interests.
